Broken
Broken

I couldn't fight you.
I didn't want to.
You took what you wanted
And then cast me aside.

My walls, my defenses
Just kept falling.
You have broken
What was left of my pride.

Could it be that
I was one strong?
But then you came
And proved me wrong.

You were an artist
Deftly crafting
A broken heart
That I must now
Turn to stone.

So here I lay now
Cold and broken,
The work of you
And you alone.

But I must thank you
For you taught me
That my heart is safer
When I'm alone.
